You know as a food blogger when I start my journey I m truly blessed coz once you love something dearly so you love that person also so dearly that involves that thing. And I felt that experience I found so many friends who are also food bloggers but the difference is only they are from another country and they show another cuisine. But that's the love language of food right that you connect so easily with that person and you learn so many different Cuisine through your friends.

Now let's talk about this recipe This is a tofu banh mi recipe that I try and find amazing and it's worth coz we add here some protein and veggies and also sauce depending on your choice.



About Tofu:

We making this banh mi with tofu so pick the firmest tofu you can find. If you can't find it sure you press it nicely.

How to press tofu.

  • Remove the tofu from the package and dab off excess moisture with a towel or kitchen towel.

  • wrap one or two kitchen towels around the block.

  • Place a plate or cutting board on top of the tofu. Then place a weight on top. Make sure the amount of weight is not so heavy or the tofu will crumble.

  • Let's sit for at least 30 min. If towels become too saturated with water, replace them so more water can absorb out of the tofu.

I love to eat tofu, but my son doesn't like it but you have to give them in using different ways right? And this is the best thing I ever made with tofu. And he loves it. Even I love to eat this tofu banh mi sandwich any time of the day. This vegan recipe is so delicious at breakfast and you don't run so quick for some extra much or hunger.

And this is the best option for kids' lunch also.

Tofu banh mi is a vegan Vietnamese sandwich that is full of flavor. This protein-packed tofu is marinated in the sauce and topped with veggie slaw.


In this recipe, will share how to make a quick carrot pickle also so we can use that carrot pickle in this tofu banh mi also and you can store it after also at least 2 months.




The ingredient you will need for Banh mi

  • Carrot pickle

  • Tofu

  • cucumber

  • Cilantro

  • Siracha sauce

  • Soy sauce

  • Turmeric

  • Salt

  • Ginger paste

  • Fresh chopped Red chili


How to make a quick carrot pickle

  • Cut carrot into thin slices

  • In the jar add boiling water add sugar and vinegar and add a carrot slice.

  • Close the jar lid and shake it well and leave it for half n hours and 1 hour.

  • You can store this carrot pickle for up to 2 months.


Now let's proceed to make tofu.

  • Heat pan add Olive oil and once it's hot add chopped fresh red chilies and ginger paste and saute for a few seconds and add tofu and saute tofu until it turns brown

  • Now add Soy sauce and turmeric powder and a pinch of salt.

  • Now tofu is ready and kept aside.


Let's assemble our sandwich

  • Take Hot dog buns

  • Cut and spread siracha on one side and mayo on one side

  • Add tofu and cucumber and our carrot pickle

  • You can add here pickle jalapeno also Your choice

  • Now add more siracha on top of that

  • And lastly, add fresh coriander on top of that

  • How's that?
